Call of the Wild

With the aurora borealis flaming coldly overhead, or the stars leaping in the frost dance, and the land numb and frozen under its pall of snow, this song of the huskies might have been the defiance of life, only it was pitched in a minor key, with long-drawn wailings and half-sobs, and was more the pleading of life, the articulate travail of existence."

From the Call of the Wild by Jack London, 1903.

Past experience indicates that recording has hidden benefits: it pushes each of us to try new things and to reach for another level of musicianship. Another benefit we enjoyed was working with our produceer, Peter Sutherland. Pete is the one who fine tuned our arrangements, and brought them into focus at the recording. We thank him for his arrangement of the song, When We're Gone, Long Gone, and for the finishing touches on all the other pieces as well. It was also a pleasure to work with Dirk Powell, his contributions on bass, piano and electric guitar inspired all of us. Danny Noveck, composer and musician joined us on a couple of cuts to add his drive on doumbec and guitar. All the people who composed the tunes and consented to our recording them have our gratitude.
